  1. I truly enjoyed seeing my friend Mrs. Phillips again after so many years and hearing her depiction of Washington, D.C. when she was a young girl. I grew up in northwest D.C. and use to go to the theaters up on U street too. I met Mrs. Phillips when I was 17 years old back in 1964 when I met her daughter Dianne at Howard University. Our families remained close over these many years and our friendships have stood the test of time. As a matter of fact Dianne just called me to say “hello” two days ago. While I have not seen Mrs. Phillips in many years, i can see she is as charming and gracious as I remember and I am very proud of her artistic talents. Sincerely, Cheryl Barnett

    1. Cheryl, Thank you for your comments. Mrs. Phillips was certainly a delightful, charming, warm person to speak with and I truly enjoyed our conversation. I am happy to hear that she is doing well. God bless her!
