Last Saturday I was asked to photograph a ladies event at church. I took advantage of the opportunity to make portraits of some of the attendees.
When I asked my dear Sister McElveen if I could take her picture, she jokingly said she was afraid that she might break my camera. Well, you can see that she came far from breaking the camera and instead gave me some of my favorite images of the day. The images capture her grace and elegance.
Her daughters were also there so of course I asked to take their pictures. I took pictures of each alone with her and then took a picture of the three of them together. I think that it is important to have a picture alone with each of your parents and I always do that during family portraits.
These are images that the family can treasure for years.

I visited Malcolm X Park also known as Meridian Hill Park in Washington, DC for the first time in years on Sunday August 30, 2015.. I was looking for a place to take pictures. Now I know what the world needs. It needs more drums.
Washington, DC is suffering from crime wave with the murder rate way out of hand but there is something wonderful going on within its limits.
On weather friendly Sunday afternoons as I discovered there is a Drum Circle representing people from all over the world that has been gathering for about 50 years in the park. It is open to anyone who has something to strike on and willing to get on the beat.
There were fat drummers, skinny drummers, old drummers, young drummers, men and women, rich and poor representing the colors of the rainbow. The music made you move. It was also playing background to yoga, picnics, sports and other activities taking place in the park.
People were dancing with not a care in the world. For about 4 hours it was nothing but peace and love.
Maybe the world would be a better place if there were more drums.

This is from our 3rd photo shoot. Due to busy schedules it is difficult to find time to shoot. When time does permit we are both pleased with the results.
The first image was taken in existing light.
We believe that one should not settle for digital images. Make beautiful images and print them large. Then pick big beautiful frames to show them off. Put them on your wall where all can see or gift them for friends.
