Auntie enamored by a favorite nephew as he shows fancy dance steps. He is equally enamored by his own moves and ability to dance.
Fun time was had by all watching and enjoying a relative’s retirement party.

Capturing the love. Now is the time for family photos!
Family pictures become priceless family treasures.
We celebrated our family reunion this past weekend as we have consecutively each year since 1976. This year I wanted to honor our senior family members for their examples and contribution to the family. God bless them!
Aunt Vivian
The last of the Hart brothers and sisters.
I like to be around her because she reminds me so much of my mother. For the longest time she would not let me take her picture but yesterday she sat patiently for a portrait.
One of Uncle Marvin’s daughters. When I see her I always think truant officer because she was one way, way back in the day in NC. She has had a career in education since then.
My nephew was born premature and had many challenges including numerous surgeries.
This week Little Nick celebrates his second birthday. Family and friends are partying all month!
These pictures were taken at his lunch pool party followed by a family dinner. That’s only the beginning!
Birthday Hat!
Pool Party with Cousins
Last Saturday I was asked to photograph a ladies event at church. I took advantage of the opportunity to make portraits of some of the attendees.
When I asked my dear Sister McElveen if I could take her picture, she jokingly said she was afraid that she might break my camera. Well, you can see that she came far from breaking the camera and instead gave me some of my favorite images of the day. The images capture her grace and elegance.
Her daughters were also there so of course I asked to take their pictures. I took pictures of each alone with her and then took a picture of the three of them together. I think that it is important to have a picture alone with each of your parents and I always do that during family portraits.
These are images that the family can treasure for years.

Barney and Lucille have enjoyed many years of marital bliss.
I photographed a friend’s family get together. It was a barbecue with family gathering from different parts of the country. Numerous pictures were taken but these two images of the grandparents are my favorites.

Waffles aren’t really that big a deal to make. Looking through a cookbook not long ago I found a simple recipe where you just put some flour, a little bit of sugar, some baking powder and salt in a bowl. Then in another bowl you put an egg, some milk, and some oil and stir. Next you just have to mix the liquid and the dry stuff and pour the batter on a hot griddle. Takes less than five minutes. And it’s cheap.
I did that this morning – a Friday morning and you can see from the look on my tester’s face they turned out great. He approved.
Are you an Eggo only person? Know anything that’s good and can be whipped up really quickly?
It was Saturday morning and I decided that my grandson would be my model for the morning. After some shots in the bedroom of him just relaxing and watching his favorite Cars videos, he moved the action into the kitchen.
With very little effort he mounted the stools like a pro. Acting as though I was invisible and as if the camera was not pointing directly at him, he proceded to climb onto the kitchen counter. After rendering a few bars of a selection on a pitch pipe and playing with an action figure toy, he decided to find out what was in the little box we use to store salt.
The adventure continued with his deciding that the box needed to have more than just salt in it. Anything handy that was pour able was then added to the salt-box and what couldn’t fit into the box was spilled onto the counter.
It resulted in a big mess but gave me some great pictures.
What pictures have you taken of your little one being him or herself?
